ARS/Rescue Rooter Stuffs the Bus for Shelby County Schools and United Way
ARS/Rescue Rooter corporate employees kicked off summer with a school supply drive, collecting more than $2,700 worth of classroom necessities for local schools.
School supplies have a positive impact on a student’s success in the classroom. Studies show that when students have their own school supplies, their grades and behavior improve, and they become more engaged and creative. More than 90% of teachers spend their own money to stock their classrooms with the necessary materials and resources, spending on average $480 per year. With the rising costs of supplies and classroom technology, teachers and administrators find it challenging to create an environment that inspires students and helps them reach their potential.
Students and teachers received the new school supplies, backpacks, and classroom necessities at a back-to-school block party celebration hosted by Shelby County Schools.
Thank you to all who participated for lending a hand to make a difference for children in Memphis!
