The ARS Rescue Rooter Network Launches #National HVAC Tech Day
American Residential Services (ARS) has launched National HVAC Tech Day on June 22, 2016 to recognize the hard work, skill and resourcefulness of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) professionals everywhere. Help us thank the men and women who keep us comfortable year round, by taking a picture with any HVAC tech and posting it to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram for a chance to win a complimentary HVAC evaluation from an ARS brand in your area.“People don’t think about their air conditioning until it stops working. Fortunately, there are hundreds of HVAC professionals committed to keeping consumers happy,” said Chris Mellon, chief marketing officer at ARS/Rescue Rooter. “We hope every day Americans and the entire HVAC industry will join us in honoring these amazing pros before the blistering heat of summer when they work long hours to keep homes cool and comfortable.”
A Brief History on HVAC
Though a variety of home heating and cooling techniques have existed since ancient times, central heating and air conditioning as we know it was born in the early 1900s. New inventions like the residential air conditioner and advances in older technologies, such as the thermostat and blower-equipped furnaces, gave Americans greater control over their indoor comfort than ever before.
This newfound power was more than a luxury; it shaped the growth of the country. Sun Belt cities across the southern portion of the United States with triple-digit summer temperatures became much more attractive places to live and vacation, once AC was more widely adopted on the 1960s.

UPDATED >>> June 22 was National HVAC Tech Day, and our branch locations celebrated in a variety of ways. A flurry of activities occurred throughout the day in honor of our HVAC techs and installers! Between the cakes, breakfast food, tacos, snow cone truck and luncheons…. WOW! Did we mention that there were goodie bags for our super HVAC Heros?
At the Corporate office, we celebrated with a fantastic party complete with cake and ice cream! We also held the OFFICIAL unveiling of the National HVAC Tech Day Proclamation! How COOL is that!
- ARS of Boston hosted a fantastic breakfast before the Techs headed out to their jobs that day!
- ARS/Rescue Rooter of Illinois set up a bagel/doughnut/coffee bar and gave away some awesome gift cards for lunch! YUM!
- Columbus Worthington Air had breakfast catered in… eggs, biscuits, sausage, bacon and ALL the trimmings! Super hero goodie bags for our SUPER HVAC Techs and Installers.
- ARS/Rescue Rooter of Fort Myers had a really COOL cake, which they had after they ate their delicious steak luncheon!
- ARS/Rescue Rooter of Indiana hosted a breakfast complete with bagels, croissants and loads of other goodies!
- McCarthy Services Showed the love to their HVAC Techs and Installers with breakfast and coffee!
- ARS of Pittsburgh – What a fabulous group of HVAC Techs and Installers!
- ARS/Rescue Rooter of Tampa Bay took their HVAC Techs OUT for breakfast!
- RighTime Services hosted a luncheon with a taco and burrito station! Muy Bueno!
- Blue Dot wanted to let their Techs chill for a bit with a Kona Snow Cone truck!
